What prevents homeownership?

Barriers to homeownership include upfront capital for renovations, low or absent credit score, and lack of familiarity with the homebuying process. After conducting over 40 industry expert interviews, we learned the solutions for each of these exist! They’re just isolated and difficult to put together.

Further, by targeting mid-sized Midwest cities, we can take advantage of the high quantity of low cost housing stock to create a sustainable business model, build stronger communities, and provide the maximum financial benefit to our customers.

Tom brings six years of leadership and logistics experience, first in the military as a Marine logistics officer, then as president of TRU Colors, a startup brewery that hires active gang members in order to reduce violence. Tom recently moved to Toledo to launch LadderUp Housing.

Head of Operations and Customer Success
Greg brings over eight years of operations and project management experience, most recently serving as COO of InterimExecs and volunteering as President of Minds Matter Chicago, a non-profit serving low-income Chicago Public School students. He has worked in corporate venture capital and consulting. Greg is building the foundation for operations, partnerships with financial opportunity centers, and processes for future scaling efforts.
